Her Voice
This is audio of Kimmie's last words, straight from the voice memos of her phone, as she tries to explain how her brain took a wrong turn. Sadly, we lost Kimmie to suicide September 4th, 2019, but we hope her last words will help open up conversation - so that other's know they don't have to suffer in silence. We share this to help break the stigma associated with mental health.
Her Calling
Along with voice memos, Kimmie used her texts to document her thoughts around mental health. We are inspired by her words. She had a true calling of changing the way we approach mental health and illness.

Accessible
Every person deserves access to affordable and effective mental health care and preventative services. If we can extend the access to all people at various stages of life, perhaps we can intervene before there is a crisis. Ending stigma plays a role in creating accessible mental health care.
Transparent
We need better continuity of care. If mental health care is kept in the dark, patients can receive treatment plans that clash and create more harm than good. We also need to be more transparent about the issues that we ALL go through. No one is alone. Chances are someone out there shares a similar story and is seeking empathy and understanding.
Inclusive
Mental illness does not discriminate. No matter who you are and how you identify, you deserve mental health care. No one should be denied care based on their identity. Everyone has a place in this world. Everyone is worthy. For those who fall through the cracks, we see you. We are here for you.
Her Writing
Kimmie documented her struggles, thoughts, and ideas in her journals. Her writing is powerful and documents the first-hand experience of what happens when the current healthcare system fails you.

Her Memories
Kimmie lives in on through the amazing footprint she already left with the time she had.
